In early 2022 a think tank was formed by Young Professional’s who Serve Seniors (YPSS) to discuss how youth-focused ageism presents itself in the workplace.
Inspired by activist Ashton Applewhite the forum was asked to where do young professionals fit into the Ageism conversation? Their answer:
Ageism whether it’s prejudice targets older or younger persons… is still Ageist.
Because many young professional's experience some form of prejudice in the early stages of their career, we also asked the forum how best to navigate this workplace obstacle, from their lens.
The tips shared below were developed from this think tank. Their suggestions are meant to inspire inclusion and communication in the workplace.
